Controlled thermo-destruction of energy material

The following activities are expected to begin upon completion of the authorization procedures and the construction of the necessary systems.

The static oven allows the thermo-destruction of explosive substances, propellants and materials contaminated with explosives and works by thermal self-feeding supplied by the same substances and materials introduced.

The furnace has a semi-underground combustion chamber (located about 3 m below the ground level) which is made up of refractory bricks insulated with ceramic fibers, all contained in a reinforced concrete bunker. The upper part is connected, through steel pipes, to the exit line that leads to the emission reduction system.

The feeding (introduction of explosive products) is carried out manually by qualified operators, using a slide that has an inclination towards the mouth of the oven of about 45 ° in such a way as to drop the propellant into the oven by gravity. The loading system has a double guillotine in order to ensure the operator’s safety in the introduction of materials on the slide, with an opening consent system.

A separation wall (an explosive barrier) is also installed to protect the operators.
